Now I’m playing Kingdom Hearts, cause it’s been a rough day.
Parents be all like, “oh you spend too much time playing games, imma take em away.”
I don’t think you understand. I NEED video games.
Oh boy my first review, and I picked a hell of a game to do it. *Spoiler Alert*
The Last of Us
If you had to pick one game to survive an apocalypse, this would be that game. Let me break it down for you:
First of all, the facial animation is un-freaking-believeable! It’s just so real. I have no other way to describe it. Definitely a revolution in that area of graphics.
Second, the story line. You don’t want it to end, plain and simple. This story line makes you want to delve into the past and future of Ellie’s and Joel’s lives. You connect to these two in the best, and worst, of ways. The feels this game will make you feel will want to make you feel no more, you know what I’m saying? It’s just heartbreak and hope and heartbreak and hope in a never-ending cycle of wonderful storytelling. However, there are a couple of holes that you just can’t help but wonder about. For example, what exactly was Joel up to during the time period before he met Ellie? What happened to Sarah’s mom? How did Ellie escape the infected alive? What happened to her best friend? Holes like these make me wonder about (and hope for) a sequel.
Third, gameplay. It takes a few minutes, give-or-take a half-hour, to get used to the camera and mobility of your player, aka Joel. The mobility is reminiscent to Heavy Rain with the “one stick moves the body, the other moves the head,” sort of feel, but you don’t even notice after the first couple of “run-like-hell’s”.
Fourth, game world. I also like to call this the landscape. What really caught my eye were two things. One, the water in the game. Seems trivial, but the way the water looks is something to be marveled at. It’s just damn beautiful. Second, the color. Most namely when Ellie spots some rather exotic for the location animals. To me, the colors looked most bright and beautiful in that moment … but perhaps I was just sharing some of Ellie’s awe.
Alright, I won’t give away anymore, but I have to ask some questions. My brother, being the little jerk that he is, brought up some head exploding, but very insightful questions. Keep in mind, there is no right or wrong answer.
Which is better, Bioshock Infinite or The Last of Us?
Is Joel a villain or hero?
I haven’t set up the spawn yet, but it’s a Craftbukkit, complete with plugins. The login is 184.108.40.206:14326 (I haven’t figured out how to make the server address customized yet).
So I bought 13 Fallout notebooks (one of each skill book) from The Chance Emporium (Chanced1) on Etsy.com. And oh-my-lord-baby-Jesus, these things are BEAUTIFUL.
Here’s book number 1 (in no particular order), the BIG BOOK OF SCIENCE.
